At Buncombe Street, we have a multitude of events throughout the year centered around our values and our vision to engage, equip and empower followers of Jesus. We hope you will join us as we spend time together both inside and outside of our walls and seek to grow His Kingdom.

Kickoff Concert

2026-2027 Freeman Orr & Bill Kutz Memorial Concert Series

Join us on Sunday, September 20 from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the Sanctuary as Internationally known Opera Soprano and Greenville Native, Myra Cordell, kicks off our 2026-2027 Freeman Orr & Bill Kutz Memorial Concert Series. This all-Baroque recital features the music of Purcell, Scarlotti, Handel, Vivaldi, and Porpora. Director of Music & Organist Vance Jenkins accompanies Myra on our 1954 Neupert Double Harpsichord and our new Estonia pre-Concert Grand Piano. Open to the public.

Suicide Prevention Month

Suicide Prevention Talk

In recognition of September as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, join us for a vital presentation in Sisk Hall on September 27 that will equip our church family with understanding and tools to support those who may be struggling with thoughts of suicide. Dennis Gillan, founder of Half a Sorrow Foundation ,will lead the talk entitled, “It’s a Tough Subject”. You can learn about Dennis HERE. There is no registration needed for this free event.

There will be a pizza reception in Drake Hall following the Talk.

Basketball Registration

Basketball Registration

It’s that exciting time of year again! Buncombe Street basketball is about to take over the court and score big in the lives of young people. Our mission is to provide a Christ-centered environment where kids can learn the game, develop their skills, build character, and grow as followers of Christ. Students from K5 – 12th grade are invited to join in as the season kicks off at the week of October 18 and runs through early 2027. Registration is open August 16 – September 20 through Realm.

Psalm 55:22 reminds us, “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you.”

Join us Wednesday, September 23rd, at 12:00 p.m. in Memorial Chapel for a special prayer service as we rest in the Lord’s presence through Scripture, worship, communion, encouragement, and soaking prayer. Whether you are carrying a heavy heart, seeking healing, or simply longing for quiet time with God, this is a place to come and find peace in His faithful care.

All are welcome—invite your family and friends to join us.

Bridge Sign-Ups

The Bridge at B-Street Sign-ups

The Bridge at B-Street is a ministry for emerging adults (18-24) to encourage one another and strengthen faith through living in the Word, loving God, and maintaining Christian connections. The Bridge Committee is ready to send cards/care packages and plan special events for the year, but in order to keep up with your fast paced lives (and changing addresses) we ask that you sign up each fall. Registration will open on August 1st in Realm.
Kairo's Cookies

Cookies for Women's Kairos Prison Ministry

The Women’s Kairos team will be witnessing at Leath Correctional Institute in Greenwood from September 29 to October 2, and they need your help with cookies.

Karios Women’s team need 600 dozen cookies per day for 4 days! The cookies must be store bought (commercially prepared and packaged). They cannot have cookies with icing, sprinkles, nuts, or raisins.

Please bring your cookies to the church office by Friday September 25, and mark for Women’s Kairos.

Upcoming 2026-2027 Mission Trips

Dominican Republic Mission Trip

This fall, travel to Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic (November 4–11, 2026) to serve alongside Mission of Hope. The primary focus is a mobile medical clinic, but non-medical volunteers are needed too, including those who love working with kids and families. Open to ages 12 & up. Cost is $1404 / person.

Guatemala Mission Trip

In early 2027, the Men's Ministry Mission Trip heads to Guatemala (February 13–20) to partner with Engadi Ministries. The trip includes a construction project, a family festival with the Engadi kids, and a cultural day. Open to men ages 18 & up. Trip cost is $850/person.
